Thomas J. Hook
President and Chief Executive Officer
Thomas J. Hook was appointed President and CEO of Barnes effective July 14, 2022. Mr. Hook served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of SaniSure, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacturing of single-use systems and components for drug and vaccine manufacturing and other biotech applications.
Mr. Hook was appointed to the Barnes Board of Directors in 2016 and previously served on the Audit Committee and Corporate Governance Committee. He currently serves as a Director of NeuroNexus Inc. Mr. Hook previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Q Holding Company and President and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Integer (formerly Greatbatch), and previously held leadership positions at CTI Molecular Imaging and General Electric Medical Systems. His prior experience also includes service as Chairman of the Board and member of the Executive Committee of HealthNow New York, Inc., and as a Director of Tactiva Therapeutics, Inc. Mr. Hook started his career as a Nuclear Engineer in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Hook holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University, a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from St. Bonaventure University.

Julie K. Streich
SVP, Finance and CFO
Julie K. Streich was appointed Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Barnes in May 2021. Prior to joining Barnes, she held several positions of increasing responsibility with Centrica PLC, a UK-based, global energy services and solutions business, including Senior Vice President, Head of Finance Operations; Vice President, Group Head of Global Planning and Analytics; Chief Financial Officer of its Direct Energy Home business; and Vice President, Corporate Finance, among others. From 2008 to 2012, Ms. Streich was the Chief Financial Officer at Pentair Process Technologies, a $1B US-based global water treatment, fluid, and thermal business within Pentair. From 1992 to 2008, she held the roles of increasing responsibility in finance, sales, strategy, business development, and banking with Irwin Financial Corporation, Eagle Materials, MeadWestvaco, and Menasha Corporation.
Ms. Streich holds a Master of International Business degree from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Spanish from Ripon College.
Ian Reason
SVP, Barnes and President, Barnes Aerospace
Ian Reason was appointed Senior Vice President, Barnes and President, Barnes Aerospace in May 2022. Before joining Barnes, Mr. Reason served as President, Mechanical Solutions, Interiors & Structures with the Triumph Group ‒ a $1.8B company that designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs, and overhauls a broad portfolio of aviation and industrial components, accessories, subassemblies, systems, and aircraft structures. Prior to this, Mr. Reason held positions of increasing responsibility with BAE Systems from 2004 to 2016, including Vice President F-35 Customer Engagement and US General Manager; Vice President Business Development & Strategy, Training Solutions; and Customer Alignment Director, F-35 Global Sustainment, where he was selected by Lockheed Martin to lead the formation of an industry and government team to drive a single global F-35 sustainment solution. Earlier in his career, Mr. Reason served as a Senior Commissioned Officer in the Royal Navy, specializing as an Aircraft Engineering Officer.
Mr. Reason holds a Master of Arts degree in Defense and Management Studies from King’s College London, a Master of Science degree in Weapon Systems from Cranfield Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Royal Naval Engineering College.
Dawn N. Edwards
SVP, Human Resources
Dawn N. Edwards serves as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Barnes. Joining Barnes in 1998, Ms. Edwards was most recently Vice President of Human Resources – Global Operations. Prior to this, she held positions of increasing responsibility with Barnes Aerospace and Barnes Industrial. Before joining Barnes, Ms. Edwards held a number of Human Resource positions at United Technologies Corporation Hamilton Standard division.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
Lukas Hovorka
SVP, Corporate Development
Lukas Hovorka was appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate Development for Barnes in March 2021. Mr. Hovorka joined Barnes in 2008 as Director, Corporate Development and most recently held the role of Vice President, Corporate Development. Prior to joining Barnes, he was with ITOCHU International Inc. where he held the position of Director/Vice President, Corporate Development. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Hovorka had the role of Senior Associate, Mergers & Acquisitions with Robertson Stephens, and he was with Goldman Sachs from 1996 to 1999.
Mr. Hovorka holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Jay B. Knoll
SVP, General Counsel and Secretary
Jay Knoll was appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Barnes in January 2023. Before joining Barnes, Mr. Knoll served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, General Counsel and Chief Sustainability Officer for Rogers Corporation, a global technology leader in advanced electronic and elastomeric materials for EV/HEV, automotive safety and radar systems, mobile devices, aerospace and defense, renewable energy, industrial equipment, and other applications.
Mr. Knoll holds a Juris Doctorate from the Wayne State University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.
Marian Acker
VP, Controller
Marian Acker serves as Vice President, Controller for Barnes. She previously served as Vice President and Corporate Controller for Barnes. Joining the Company in 1993, she has held positions of increasing responsibility, including Group Controller, Barnes Aerospace, and Assistant Corporate Controller. Prior to that, Ms. Acker was with PricewaterhouseCoopers as Audit Manager.
A Certified Public Accountant, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and a Master’s degree in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Hartford, Connecticut.
Michael V. Kennedy
VP, Tax and Treasury
Michael Kennedy was appointed Vice President, Tax and Treasury in March 2016. He joined the Company as Vice President, Tax in August 2015. Prior to joining Barnes, Mr. Kennedy served as Vice President of Tax and Treasury at Platform Specialty Products Corporation (formerly MacDermid Inc.), where he was responsible for all federal, state and local tax issues as well as managing Global Treasury operations. From 2001 to 2006, he held the position of Vice President, Taxation with Allied Domecq North American Corporation in Westport, CT. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Kennedy served as Director, Tax for MacDermid Inc. and from 1989 to 1997, he held a variety of tax and tax-related roles with Dynamics Corporation of America. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. as part of the tax consulting team.
Mr. Kennedy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Pace University in Pleasantville, New York. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
